Arizona Healthcare Premiums for Private Sector Market Segments, 2002 - 2010 (PMPM)

  • Over the course of the decade, large employer-based health insurance premiums will almost double, increasing from an average of $212 PMPM to $416 PMPM
  • Premiums in the individual market are less overall, reflecting the fact that deductibles and co-payments are generally higher and the benefits more limited than plans sponsored by employers. In addition, the entire cost is borne by the individual, with no employer contribution to the premium.

Notes:

  1. Health care premiums shown do not include Behavioral Health Services, Long Term Care Services, or Dental Services. These figures do not include premiums on services not covered under each segment’s respective insurance products.
